Aparshakti Khurrana says his comment about ‘PR game’ amidst ‘Stree 2’ success has been misconstrued: ‘It’s funny that the narrative is…’ – Times of India

While ‘Stree 2‘ is now competiting with ‘Jawan’ to get the number one spot as the highest grossing Bollywood movie ever, a lot was being spoken about who should be credited for the success. Many reports came out about the credit war for the movie and if the film’s success was due to Rajkummar Rao or Shraddha Kapoor. Aparshakti Khurrana who also stars in the movie had commented on this credit war and said that’s it’s all a PR game.
However, Aparshakti has now clarified on his comment and said that it was misconstrued. The actor said in a chat with Bollywood Bubble, “It really gets misconstrued and honestly, I was taking everyone together. It’s funny that the narrative is the other way around. But having said that, I really don’t want to deep dive into this because I’ll really get emotional and break down. (Rahul) Bose knows this. I’ve spoken about it, I’ve had sleepless nights. I never thought that this would be something I would be blamed for.”
He further added, “And people who know me, know that I can take a bullet in the chest in the middle of the night for my team, for my people, for my co-actors, for my writers, for my directors and each and every person on that set. From a light man to the spot boy – who comes from the production team not my team the production team, that’s why I don’t want to deep dive.”
‘Stree 2’ is now inching towards Rs 550 crore at the box office. The film also stars Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi apart from Aparshakti, Rajkummar and Shraddha.
