The Kochi police have been ordered by the Crime Branch chief to arrest the actor immediately.
The two houses belonging to the actor in Kochi are under surveillance with no sign of the actor. Manorama News reports that Siddique’s mobile phones have been switched off and the police believe he may have gone into hiding.
His son was seen visiting the legal firm Raman Pillai Associates, which suggests a petition to the Supreme Court will be filed soon. The house in Aluva is locked, and Siddique’s Padamughal residence is under close watch by the police. According to reports, his phone was last active in Palarivattom.
The High Court judgment came after the investigator team presented new, strong evidence and witness statements, which placed Siddique in an even more controversial position in the sexual assault case.
In its verdict, the court headed by Justice CS Dias expressed its dissatisfaction with the arguments of the actor as the court had already stood by the statements given by the complainant and found them backed by solid evidence.
Siddique’s defense, led by senior advocate B Raman Pillai, argued that the charges were fabricated and that there was no mention of rape when the complainant filed the initial complaints. Siddique never admitted to the charges, claiming this is a scripted story, but the court did not believe it, especially after the additional public prosecutor brought forth proof that Siddique and the complainant were together at the Mascot Hotel in 2012, or the year the incident occurred, according to the complaint.
