Actor Sharad Kapoor, known for films like ‘Josh’, ‘LOC Kargil’, and ‘Lakshya’, has been accused of misbehaviour and inappropriate touching. A 32-year-old woman filed a complaint with the Khar police in Mumbai, alleging that Kapoor invited her to his house, where he behaved inappropriately and forcibly touched her. The police are currently investigating the matter.
The victim stated that she first came into contact with Sharad Kapoor through Facebook and later communicated with him via video calls. Sharad reportedly told her that he wanted to meet to discuss a film shoot. He then sent her his location, asking her to come to an office in Khar. However, upon arriving, she discovered it was not an office but his home.
Upon reaching the third floor, a man opened the door, and Sharad’s voice instructed her to come to his bedroom. Later that evening, the actor sent the woman a WhatsApp message, using foul language. The victim shared the entire incident with a friend, who then filed a complaint at the nearby Khar police station, leading to the registration of the case against the actor.
No statement has been issued by actor Sharad regarding the incident. An FIR has been filed against him under sections 74 (Assault or use of criminal force against a woman), 75 (Sexual harassment), and 79 (Insult the modesty of any woman) of the Indian Penal Code (Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita). The investigation is ongoing.
