JAMMU: Security forces launched joint cordon-and-search operations in frontier villages in J&K’s Poonch district on Monday based on inputs about the alleged movement of terror suspects in the area, officials said.“The searches commenced around 12.30pm. Multiple teams are combing the forested upper reaches spanning Jhotian Wali, Dhook Dhoba, and other areas in Mehrote, in Poonch’s Surankote sub-division,” an official said, adding that the operation continued till late Monday.Pertinently, troops of the Army’s 16 RR, 37 RR, and J&K Police’s SOG have been hunting for terror suspects in Surankote since September 2.
