NOIDA: Noida Police have registered a zero FIR against a 25-year-old woman for allegedly using objectionable language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.The action was taken following a complaint by Supreme Court advocate Smriti Singh.According to police, the accused has been identified as Ruchika Singh, a resident of Lotus Zing society in Sector 150, Noida.Smriti Singh told TOI that she received several videos purportedly showing the accused using abusive language against the Prime Minister.“I checked her social media accounts and talked to some of her friends and received details of her. I learnt that she is working in a salon and owns a house in Noida. After collecting details, I went to the police station where I showed the videos of her and in the middle of the videos, the cops present covered their ears with their hands,” she said.A police officer posted at Expressway police station, told TOI that based on the complaint, a zero FIR was registered against Ruchika under Sections 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 353(1) (statements conducing to public mischief) and 356(1) (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).“Initial investigation revealed that the accused is living with her family in Uncha Gaon, Faridabad. She purchased a flat in the Lotus Society in January earlier this year and the flat has been locked for several months,” he said.“The matter took place during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, so we transferred the case to Delhi Police today for investigation,” the SHO said.
