Pune: The Lonavla City police on Monday registered a case against 16 people, including seven women, for dancing to loud music around 1am in a bungalow at Bhangarwadi.A police team raided the bungalow around 1am on Monday and found that the men and women had consumed and possessed liquor without a valid permit.The 16 people and the bungalow owner and caretaker have been booked under Sections 270 (public nuisance) and 296 (obscene acts and songs) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant sections of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, the officer said.An officer from the Lonavla City police said they received information that a group of men and women was creating a nuisance for residents of the society in Bhangarwadi. They were dancing to loud music on the premises of the bungalow.“When our team reached the spot, they found nine men and seven women dancing under the influence of alcohol. The men were from the Beed district, and the women belonged to different states of the country. We recovered beer and liquor bottles from the bungalow,” the officer said.He said the men and women were sent to a government hospital in Talegaon Dabhade for their respective medical tests. The tests confirmed that they had consumed liquor. “We did not find any permit with them,” he said.
