70% consent for Pune’s Purandar airport land, decision on deadline extension pending | Pune News – The Times of India

Pune: The land acquisition consent process for the proposed Purandar international airport has reached the 70% mark, with consent letters received for around 851 hectares of the total 1,285 hectares required for the project, district officials said on Wednesday. The administration had set June 10 (Wednesday) as the deadline for the land acquisition consent process. An official said the administration was yet to decide if the deadline for consent collection would be extended. The official clarified that landowners who submitted consent letters within the stipulated period would be eligible for the announced compensation rate, along with additional benefits, while those who did not may only receive the base land value if acquisition proceeds compulsorily. The official added that those who came forward with the consent letters till June 10 would get the land and additional benefits while for the remaining for the others they would only get the rates for the land,’’ stated the land acquisition official. The project spans Vanpuri, Kumbharvalan, Udachiwadi, Pargaon, Ekhatpur, Khanwadi and Munjwadi villages, where land acquisition is underway for the proposed airport and allied infrastructure.Compensation worth nearly Rs 900 crore has so far been disbursed to farmers whose acquisition formalities have been completed. Another official said progress in the rest of the cases has been slow because of land search reports preparation and legal verification processes as several land parcels were under litigation in courts.
