Mumbai: The Mumbai Crime Branch’s Cell-6 unit has arrested three absconding accused from West Bengal who were allegedly involved in multiple serious offences, including criminal conspiracy, use of explosives, and Arms Act violations registered at Shibpur Police Station. The accused were on the run after a case was registered on May 7 under various sections of the IPC, Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act.Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch traced the accused to a rented room in Deonar. Following technical surveillance and human intelligence inputs, the team arrested Shamim Ahmed Abdul Rashid (40), Jamil Akhtar Ali (43), and Aftab Anwar Khurshid Anwar (44). During police interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted involvement in the offences. Police said the trio were also wanted in five additional cases registered at Shibpur Police Station. A team from Howrah Police has reached Mumbai and has taken custody of the accused.
