MUMBAI: Mahanagar Gas Limited has appointed a new Managing Director, Praveer Kumar Srivastava, who brings over three decades of experience from GAIL (India) Limited (formerly known as Gas Authority of India Ltd.) to Mumbai’s largest city gas distributor. A seasoned energy sector leader, Srivastava has handled operations and maintenance of gas processing units and pipeline networks, along with the execution of large-scale projects across key GAIL installations. He was instrumental in commissioning India’s first Hydrogen Blending Pilot Project and one of the country’s largest green hydrogen (PEM) production plants at Vijaipur. He also served as Executive Director at GAIL, where he oversaw the pipeline network connecting major LNG terminals at Dahej and Dabhol to industrial consumers across western India. At MGL, which serves over 32 lakh households and 12.5 lakh vehicles across Maharashtra and Karnataka, Srivastava is expected to drive growth, innovation and sustainability. Srivastava stated, “My focus will be on improving efficiency, accelerating project delivery, leveraging technology and digitisation, building strong teams, and ensuring robust financial performance.”
