Govt urges docs to hold free OPD once a month for poor | Pune News – The Times of India


Pune:State health minister Prakashrao Abitkar has urged private doctors to participate in the central govt’s Jan SEHAT(Service for enhanced health access and treatment) Setu and extend free consulting services to the poor for one day every month.Abitkar and minister of labour and employment Mansukh Mandviya were present for the launch of the programme at the Symbiosis college campus in Vimannagar on Friday.In the first phase in Maharashtra, about 1,500 gynaecologists will take part in the programme and provide free OPD services. The campaign will then be extended to other states and cities, so that it can become a mass movement.
