In a dramatic twist amid the persistent gas crisis, Charkop Police have taken down a 32-year-old thief, Manoj Sharma, for stealing 27 LPG cylinders. Captured in Nala Sopara, law enforcement managed to recover 12 of the stolen cylinders along with the tempo used in the heist that took place on March 25-26.

MUMBAI: A 32-year-old man was arrested by Charkop Police for stealing 27 LPG cylinders during the current gas crisis. Police said they have recovered 12 of the stolen cylinders, besides the tempo they were placed in.The incident had occurred in the intervening night between March 25 and 26. The tempo with 27 LPG cylinders had been parked at Kaka Keni Chowk at Charkop from where it had disappeared. A police complaint was lodged by Nandkumar Soni in this connection.

After registering an FIR, police formed teams and tracked down the tempo. On the basis of specific information and technical surveillance, police arrested the accused, Manoj Sharma from Nala Sopara where he lives.
