Navi Mumbai: NRI Coastal police arrested a 70-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing three girls aged 7, 9, and 10 residing in his locality. The incident occured on March 26 around 6pm when the girls were playing in the passage near the building where the accused resides.One of the girls told her mother about ‘bad touch’ by the accused after which two other also narrated their ordeal. Acting on a complaint by the mother of one of the girls, an FIR was registered against the accused at 9.30pm and he was arrested at 10pm. Devender Pol, senior inspector of NRI Coastal police station, said, “The arrested accused was booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, along with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.“Investigating officer, API Yogesh Gaikwad said, “The accused was produced before a local court on March 27, and was remanded to magistrate custody.”
