Mumbai: Mumbai: A 58-year-old woman from Chandivli was arrested on Wednesday after immigration officials at Mumbai International Airport stopped her from boarding a Mumbai-Delhi flight for allegedly screaming that a bomb was planted in a Mumbai-Ghaziabad flight and creating chaos on the premises.Immigration officials questioned Shanti Kothari and handed her over to Sahar police for further probe. Police said they were trying to find out the reason behind her act.The incident occurred at 4 am at Boarding Gate 51 when Senior Customer Service Executive Officer for Indigo Airlines Mohammad Sohail Shaikh (28) was making announcements regarding the flight from Mumbai to Ghaziabad at Gate No. 52.“We have informed Kothari’s family member about her arrest. She has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 125 (act endangering life or personal safety), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) and 353 (1) (b) (public mischief). She claimed that she was annoyed with the airline executive for screaming inside the airport, and she lost control and screamed ‘bomb’,” said a police officer of the Sahar police station. In the complaint, Shaikh said, “I was making an announcement about the flight Mumbai-Ghaziabad when Kothari came to Gate No. 51 and told me, “Why are you shouting so much? Whoever has to come will come. Why have you made this a fish market here?” and shouted at me. After that, when announcements for Indigo Flight No. 6E 355 from Mumbai to Delhi started at Gate No. 52, the passenger Kothari shouted loudly while boarding, “Don’t go on the Ghaziabad flight; there’s a bomb in it.“Shaikh immediately informed security head manager Manoj Dalvi. He said the information was conveyed to the CISF Department, Terminal Operations Department, and all govt security agencies at Mumbai airport.“A meeting of all govt security agencies at Mumbai airport was held regarding the matter, and due to the threatening statements made in the said meeting, an atmosphere of fear was created among the people,” said Shaikh in the FIR.A thorough check of the flights was carried out before it took off. Shaikh and airport staff then handed over Kothari to Sahar Police. “Kothari told the flyers who were in the queue to board the Mumbai-Ghaziabad flight warning, Don’t go on the adjacent flight no. 6E 980 from Mumbai to Ghaziabad; there is a bomb in it” while she was about to board the flight from Mumbai to Delhi,” said a police officer.
