Baramati hoteliers urge deputy CM Sunetra Pawar to push for rationing of commercial LPG cylinders instead of total suspension in supply | Pune News – The Times of India
Pune: Amidst curbs on access to commercial LPG cylinders owing to the conflict in West Asia, a delegation of hoteliers from Baramati requested deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar to push for rationing this supply rather than its complete suspension, in order to be able to keep their businesses afloat.Sunetra Pawar was in Baramati on Friday to attend a ‘janata darbar’ meeting with the public to address various issues. Office-bearers of the Baramati Traders’ Federation met the deputy CM at her residence, where they gave her a memorandum and requested her to take up their issues in the next cabinet meeting to find solutions to regularise commercial LPG cylinders’ supply.Federation president Sushil Somani said, “The situation is becoming challenging for hoteliers with no supply of commercial LPG cylinders. Over 25% of hotels across Baramati town were forced to shut due to unavailability of commercial LPG. Due to this shutdown, not only hoteliers but also their staffers and vendors who provide raw materials are suffering.”To regulate LPG supply, govt has introduced a mandatory gap of 25 days for booking the next cylinder for domestic users. Hoteliers from Baramati have demanded similar rationing of commercial cylinders instead of complete suspension of this supply.“Considering the challenging situation, if govt provides one cylinder after regular intervals, hoteliers will survive this tough phase. We have requested the deputy CM to take up the issue in the cabinet meeting and provide some relief to the hotel industry,” Somani reutera.
