The shocking murder of Baba Siddique, Salman Khan‘s close friend and former Maharashtra minister, has sent ripples through the industry. Siddique was tragically shot near his son’s office, with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claiming responsibility—escalating fears as the same gang has previously issued threats to the Dabangg star.
Now a report in NDTV stated that the plot to kill the politician was made 10 days after the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence. Mumbai Police‘s Crime Branch sources told the news portal that the assassination plan for NCP leader Baba Siddique was devised just 10 days after the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence on April 14, 2024.
The Crime Branch suspects that Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang targeted individuals closely associated with Salman Khan, with Baba Siddique being a prime focus of their plans.
Two men on motorbikes opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence, causing alarm. Following the incident, police apprehended several suspects linked to the attack.
Investigators discovered that the gang utilized an illegal telephone exchange system, known as Dabba Calling, to coordinate their murder plot. Notably, Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, allegedly employed the system to relay instructions to accomplices.
The lead shooter, Shiv Kumar Gautam, reportedly lingered at the crime scene for 20 minutes post-attack, leaving behind his weapon, shirt, and Aadhaar card to blend with the crowd. That night, he visited Lilavati Hospital to confirm the victim’s death and later discarded his mobile phone to avoid being tracked by the police.
After Baba Siddique’s tragic death, his son Zeeshan shared heartfelt insights about his father’s bond with Salman Khan during an interview with BBC Hindi. He revealed that Salman was deeply affected by the loss, describing their relationship as that of real brothers. Zeeshan expressed gratitude for Salman’s unwavering support, mentioning how the superstar frequently checks on him, offering comfort during sleepless nights.
Salman Khan was one of the first to arrive at the hospital following Baba Siddique’s tragic demise and appeared deeply emotional at the funeral. His family also visited Siddique’s residence to offer their condolences and pay their final respects.
