‘Jigra’ box office collection day 14: The Alia Bhatt starrer crawls towards the Rs 30 crore mark; lags behind ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ which is equally dull | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Jigra‘ and everything happening around the movie – in terms of its box office row, allegations by Divya Khosla, or perhaps the whole misunderstanding around the film’s casting – it’s all been largely disheartening for the industry. The distributors, exhibitors wait for movies like this in the hope that they would pull some audiences to the theatres and provide some quality content. The intent of ‘Jigra’ may have been that, but the film didn’t live up to expectations as there were mixed reviews. Moreover, it had a decent opening number considering it was a niche movie, but kept seeing a drop since then.
The navratri time also affected the box office of ‘Jigra’ and ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘ starring Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri which had released with it. ‘Jigra’ dropped from it’s Rs 1 crore and more mark to lakhs from Monday onwards and kept seeing a gradual fall. The movie made Rs 40 lakhs on Thursday. The total collection of ‘Jigra’ so far is Rs 29.25 crore.
‘Jigra’ is perhaps Alia’s lowest grossing movie in a while, it may not have a lifetime of more than Rs 35 crore, which is also a tentative number on the higher side. ‘Jigra’ is perhaps Alia’s lowest grossing movie in a while, it may not have a lifetime of more than Rs 35 crore, which is also a tentative number on the higher side. The film still got some numbers in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, but the numbers from Delhi and UP have been quite dull.
The film also stars Vedang Raina and is directed by Vasan Bala.
