A.R. Rahman had previously revealed that he faced challenges in the form of a gang spreading false stories about him, which, he said, led to a decline in Bollywood offers.
In an interview with Connect Cine, A.R. Rahman discussed a difficult phase when false stories were being spread about him by a gang. When asked if he is in a better position now, Rahman shared that he is much happier, as he is working on high-quality projects with long-time collaborators Mani Ratnam and Imtiaz Ali.He highlighted his involvement in films like ‘Ponniyin Selvan‘ and ‘Amar Singh Chamkila‘, which have brought him joy and satisfaction in his career.
A.R. Rahman reflected on a time when false stories were being spread about him, mentioning how he felt when hearing that his name was involved in discussions but others were pushing different people for projects.
Now, he expresses his happiness with the freedom and opportunities he enjoys, especially working on films with directors like Imtiaz Ali and Mani Ratnam. Rahman highlighted that his schedule is full of challenging, high-quality projects, which he is proud to be part of, particularly in Bollywood.
In an earlier interview with Radio Mirchi, A.R. Rahman explained that he doesn’t decline good offers, but they often don’t reach him due to a ‘gang’ spreading false rumours about him, likely based on misunderstandings. He shared how, despite these challenges, when casting director Mukesh Chhabra approached him for Dil Bechara, he was so inspired that he composed four songs within just two days.
