The psychological thriller series ‘Doubt‘ sees Korea’s top profiler, Jang Tae Soo (Han Suk Kyu) discover an unfortunate truth about his daughter Ha Bin (Chae Won Bin) by investigating a murder case. The production team released still photos from the scene featuring Han Suk Kyu as Jang Tae Soo, a father suspicious of his daughter. Here, the conflict between the two personas is easily seen – between the professionalism of Jang Tae Soo when it comes to crime scenes and his struggles as a father at home.
One catches glimpses of Jang Tae Soo as he works on a case with a sharp, piercing look.At home, however, he is gruff, depicting a relationship with his daughter that is distant and awkward. When he finds out about her connection to the murder case, it is only then that his defenses break down, as he becomes frantic to find the truth.
Through this show, Han Suk Kyu is portraying one of the most complex characters: on one hand, an excellent profiler who can much better read criminal minds but, on the other hand, is not able to understand his daughter’s emotions or feelings. Now whether he sees her daughter as a suspect or tries to figure out her emotions as a father, offers the viewer an experience of heightened dramatic tension.
When and where to watch ‘Doubt’:
The first two episodes of the drama ‘Doubt’ will be 90 minutes long and will air on October 11 and 12 at 9:40 p.m. KST.
