Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao led Stree 2 has had a dream run at the box office as it closes on to becoming the only film in Hindi cinema to cross Rs 600 crore mark. But over the last couple of weeks the film has been following a particular pattern, with its collections dipping during the weekdays and showing a major spike over the weekends. And this pattern repeated itself on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti which was a National holiday.

The Amar Kaushik directorial venture jumped by 100 percent to collect Rs 1.80 crore on Wednesday, October 2, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. Thus taking the overall collection of Rs 591.45 crore and now needing a little over Rs 8.5 crore to attain the magical figure of Rs 600 crore. With Alia Bhatt’s Jigra and Rajkummar Rao-Triptii Dimri’s ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ releasing only on October 11, ‘Stree 2’ is all primed to reach the figure if not over this weekend then surely by the next weekend.

The Hindi film industry is going through a major period of uncertainty as makers are not sure about what is working and that has led to less number of films being made. And this has resulted in big gaps between major films, like October 2 would have been a good day to release films. Back in 2019 War had released on the October 2 and it had a taken a massive opening.
Stree 2 also features Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Pankaj Tripathi, with special appearances by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia. The makers are considering a spin-off focused on Shraddha Kapoor’s character, exploring the backstory of her life and her relationship with Stree.
