Indian fans of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ filmmaker, were in for an amusing surprise when he revealed Bollywood actor Govinda as his ‘favourite Superman.’ Gunn took to his Instagram handle to share a clip from Govinda from the Bollywood film ‘Dariya Dil’.In the clip, the actor was seen dressed as Superman and dancing alongside co-star Kimi Katkar who was dressed as ‘Spider-Woman’.
The clip was from the song sequence ‘Tu Mera Superman‘. Gunn playfully captioned the post as ‘My favourite Superman movie. Best CGI effects’. He added a handshake emoji and the words “Marvel and DC,” referencing the hilarious crossover of the two characters.

The director’s light-hearted post caught the attention of his desi fans, who took to social media to share a laugh over the clip and share the original dance video.
James Gunn is currently working on the highly-anticipated ‘Superman’ reboot, starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent aka Superman. The film will also star Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, and Nicholas Hoult as the villain Lex Luthor.
According to reports, the film slated for a 2025 release, focuses on Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his upbringing in Smallville, Kansas. It draws inspiration from the Superman comics and will be the first film in the Gunn-led DCU’s ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’.
